Generalissimo Suvorov: Now Physically Attractive, by Joseph Kreutzinger Return
Suvorov was not considered to be attractive. Not attractive enough
to represent the Russians abroad. This was easy to rectify. The head
of George Washington, with George Washington's facial features was
used instead of Suverov's. Now the image of Suverov was acceptable.
Why the face of George Washington? Most likely the face of George
Washington, from far off in the American Colonies would not be well
known to Europeans. Painting by Joseph Kreutzinger.
